Meet Ashley Lovelace

What’s your name? What are your pronouns?
My name is Ashley Lovelace (she/her)

Where are you located?
I live in Florida (North Florida specifically) along with my beautiful wife who not only helps and encourages me to express myself when I do dress, but also helped me overcome my fears and to come out of the closet.

What’s your favorite thing about expressing your feminine side?
What I love more than anything about expressing my feminine side is the way the clothes make me feel both empowered and euphoric. The softness and swaying of the dresses, the sensation of silky smooth stockings, the clicking of my heels, makes me feel so alive, vibrant and pretty. In short, it truly makes me feel like a woman.

How would you describe your style?
I would list my style as a girlie-girl, I just love wearing dresses, mid lengths and shorter, as well as mini skirts and blouses. Very rarely if ever do I wear anything else (jeans, shorts, business suits, etc). I also love wearing Halloween costumes. Two of my favorites is a Steam Punk Girl and the other is my all-time favorite, French Maid.

Where are your favorite places to shop?
In the past there used to be a place in Pennsylvania, Philadelphia to be precise, that was geared to crossdressers. The name escapes me but that’s where I first started shopping via a catalog they would mail out. Currently I do a lot of my shopping at local Goodwill stores, box stores (Ross, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, etc) as well as online with Amazon and now, the TBFS store (I currently have a few items in the cart as we speak, can’t wait)

What piece of advice would you share to someone starting dressing?
My advice to anyone who is just starting to dress up and exploring their feminine side is to embrace it. Do not be afraid of it. It is a part of you and who you are, and it’s okay. Don’t be afraid, live life and enjoy all that life has to offer. In hindsight, I wish I would have come out of the closet much sooner.
