Every girl’s journey toward embracing her true self is a beautiful mix of courage, curiosity, and self-expression. For many of us, those little beauty rituals — like brows that frame the face or eyeliner that brings our eyes to life — become part of how we connect with our femininity.
One reader recently shared her experience after having her brows and eyeliner tattooed, saying that while her top liner stayed perfect, her bottom liner faded quickly. Now she’s looking for her next step — something lasting, visible, and affirming of her femininity:
“Hi, I finally want to come out to everyone and just need to push myself. I recently had my brows and eyeliner tattooed, but unfortunately, my bottom eyeliner has disappeared after just a couple of days. I can still hide the rest with concealer, but I’m a little sad about that because I want it to be noticeable and not something I can easily hide. Do you have any ideas for other permanent beauty treatments I could try next?”
Jules
Hi! Good for you coming out, its a big thing and easy to overthink, remember to breathe 😂! If your just looking at your face, you could try hair removal (laser etc) as a good first step, or getting a facial? HRT also changes your skin overtime to make it more feminine, and generally is a good idea if you are coming out as trans. One i've always wanted to try is lip tinting, after getting lipstick on pretty much everything (mind out of the gutter please!) the idea of a forever colour does appeal! Good luck with coming out ❤!

well if you want to be noticed just be noticed.. as far as permanent beauty treatments you can do? start out with waxing your brows or getting your ears pierced a few times in each ear.. there is also laser hair removal, or if you really want, get a tattoo.. something very feminine like bows on the back of your legs, or a lingerie design someplace .. there is so much.. just think Girly

Sorry to hear your treatment hasn't quite lived up to expectations! Personally, I quite enjoy the manual process of doing brows and eyeliner, but I can definitely empathise with wanting them styled forever. Outside of these, I've heard good things about laser hair removal and eyelash extensions, so you could ask around if your friends have any good local recommendations.

The very first thing to know about permanent makeup, and it seems pretty misleading is this: it isn't actually permanent (not in the way we think it is)! Most treatments are semi-permanent and fade over time depending on your skin type, aftercare, and even how oily your skin is. Still, it’s always a good idea to check in with your artist to make sure your aftercare is spot-on and that the pigments and techniques they used are right for your skin. When you’re exploring beauty treatments, make sure you’re working with a trusted, trained, and certified cosmetologist or technician. The right professional can make all the difference in both your results and your comfort. If you’re thinking about what to try next, here are a few great options to consider:
- Eyelash extensions — Eyes that look like you woke up with mascara on them!,
- Microblading — This can help you fill in your brows if they are missing spots, but can also help you get used to having a thinner, more feminine browline,
- Laser hair removal — This permanent change can help your getting ready time on a daily or weekly basis, and will leave you feeling more feminine,
I always recommend taking your time to find a professional who is willing to listen to you, give you advice, and makes you feel comfortable in your skin. Read reviews, ask for before and after photos, and make sure that you're comfortable with the short term, and long term, choices you make. Tattoos once were considered permanent, but now we have tattoo removal, but it's expensive and painful. Making the right choice the first time can save you time and money while giving you better results! 🩷💜
When it comes to expressing your femininity, there’s no single path or timeline — just your own beautiful evolution. Whether it’s permanent makeup, laser treatments, lip tinting, or even semi-permanent blush, these little touches can help you wake up each day already feeling more aligned with the woman inside.
What matters most is choosing treatments that make you feel confident, radiant, and unmistakably you. Every enhancement — no matter how small — is a celebration of your courage to live authentically and embrace your feminine transformation.
