The Powder Room: How Do Self-Adhering Breast Forms Stay On?

The Powder Room: How do self-adhering breast form stay on?

The Breast Form Store |

Every girl reaches a moment where practicality meets curiosity — especially when it comes to self-adhering breast forms. They offer freedom, realism, and the possibility of going braless, but it’s completely natural to wonder how they actually work and what kind of support they really need. If you’ve been exploring the Divine Collection self-adhering prosthetics — including Cleo, Hera, Athena, Aphrodite, and even the Nikki and Jolie hip padding duo — you’re not alone in wanting clear, honest answers before taking the plunge.

Today’s question gets right to it:

“How do the Cleo self adhering breast forms stay on or do you always have to wear them with a bra?”

I can only speak from my experience... the forms and all the divine collection are self adhesive, meaning they are slightly sticky on the backs. as gravity is no woman's friend, and these forms have weight to them, I don't find this is enough to hold them up on its own. There are a couple solutions, The medical grade silicone adhesive, if applied right, it wont go anywhere except maybe in extremely sweaty situations. Or there are the skin-tac wipes that are shipped with them that wrok quite well... I mostly use these to ensure seams stay down. Since I wear mine every other day, I still use a bra for my breastforms - sometimes when I want my skin to breathe, I use a pocket / mastectomy bra, or for my Jolie Hips pads both long AND short) I use a body shaping short, I find it smoothes down the shape a bit, and gives enough support that the self adhesive is enough...

For me it can be sometimes tricky, especially on hotter days where I tend to sweat a lot. For sure if I know I want them on for a while I’ll start by cleaning my chest and then using the skin wipes. Then I’ll use medical adhesive and coat them and my chest. I try to let it get dry and tacky and then I place them and hold them in place with a bra. After about 5 minutes I can go braless without them.

Self-adhering breast forms are so much fun! Divine Collection's breast forms, including the Cleo, are super sticky all on their own, so they're perfect in regular, non-pocketed bras. However, if you're wanting to go braless or wear them with something less supportive, preventing moisture is key!

Why is this? Well, the silicone itself is super sticky, but once water (sweat or even humidity) gets between you and the breast forms itself, the silicone isn't sure what to hold on to -- you, or the liquid! If you live in a particularly humid location, or if you know you're planning to break a sweat while wearing your breast forms, I recommend using an adhesive to keep them secured when you want to go braless. My favorites are SilicONE adhesive spray and Deux adhesive for something that is sweatproof that can cover the entire back of the breast forms! (Just make sure to use the matching adhesive remover to get them as clean as possible.)

Depending on your skin type, you may find it's extra helpful to help prep your skin first. Stay Dry works as a sweat barrier to help slow sweat down, and Skin Tac Wipes also create a moisture barrier while also making the skin a little tacky. If you have oilier skin, you may find using one or both of these products prior to using an adhesive will help keep the adhesive in place longer. You may also find that your skin is happier with no skin prep. Experiment to find out which method works best for you!

At the end of the day, self-adhering breast forms are all about flexibility. Some girls feel confident going braless with the right prep and adhesive, while others prefer the added security and comfort of a bra — and both choices are completely valid. Your body, your climate, your activity level, and even your mood that day all play a role. The most important thing is giving yourself permission to experiment, listen to your body, and find what makes you feel supported, secure, and beautiful.
