Today’s question is all about one of our most beloved topics:
“I’m looking for a breast form — do you have any advice on choosing the right one?”

Different types of breast forms work better for different situations.
For everyday use, I’d recommend the Divine Collection self-adhesive forms. They’re easy to wear and both look and feel great. I have a preference towards the Hera and Cleo.
If you’re planning on showing lots of cleavage, then a breastplate is a good option. Just keep in mind that some people find them uncomfortable, and you’ll need to dress strategically to hide the seams.
When it comes to size, it’s really about personal preference. I like a cup size that fits my frame and looks natural. For me that happens to be the smallest size in the Athena Collection. If that’s the look you want, think about your body type. For example, if you’re very slim, DDs might not look as natural, whereas on a larger frame, bigger sizes can look more realistic. TheBFStore also has a great sizing guide that’s worth checking out.

Hi! Firstly, you probs will want two, unless your feeling very unique (sorry, couldn't resist 😂)! In terms of finding the right one, it depends! Do you want something proportional? Something cheap? Something you can wear braless? The BF store has lots of categories on the website, and some guides to help you find your size, have a look there. For me, i'm a pale marshmallow who wants something to match my skin, which is where the BF stores breastforms with skin matching come in! Ultimately the choice is yours, I hope you find something you like ❤!

I’d say start off with what you’re looking to achieve! Do you want a breast plate or separate forms. Then decide what size. Realize that girls come in all different shapes and sizes so if you want to explore a little bit more busty that go for it! I have a pair of the Hera’s which I love because they have a great shape, feel and they’re breathable. I typically pair these up with something that’s more high cut and less cleavage. And then I have a Gold seal Naked Torso, which is amazing for realistic looking cleavage, that I use for lower cut tops .
But most importantly have fun! This is a great way to be able to explore or add on to your fem experience! And the BF Store and their advisors are super friendly, confidential and professional. They’ve helped me pick a couple of times and I couldn’t be happier with the forms I’ve gotten from them

i would say go with a size that best suits your body frame and body type .. also the best advice would be to simply ask the girls from TBFS.. very good at what they do ,, and they are as sweet as pie to chat with

I've always found choosing a breastform to be extremely difficult, especially online. What is a realistic size? What shape works best? If I want to show cleavage does the color match, etc? Not getting to try them on makes it incredibly difficult and frankly I've spent a lot of money and have a box filled with different forms that I wear intermittently. So I decided when I was ready to invest in a REALLY high quality breastform, I was going to make sure the fit and color were perfect. At the risk of this sounding like a commercial for The Breastform Store, I took a quick vacation to their offices in Vancouver, BC and was sized and color matched by their experts. Not only did I walk away with a lovely Athena breastplate that looks fantastic, but also a set of Hera forms as well! And I enjoyed a long weekend in a beautiful city to boot. So while it was certainly added expense, I have a product that I'm confident looks good, and that's what was most important to me. If you have the means, stop guessing and make an investment!

There are sizing guides available on the BF Store, if you are uncertain. I'd recommend starting out a little smaller in cup size so you can get used to how they look on you, before venturing up to the bigger, more exaggerated sizes! Forms are a much simpler starting point than a breastplate too. For the most part, forms will sit inside of the bra cup, so colour might not be a critical factor, but if you want them to be seen, there are a few skin tones to pick from to best align with your natural shade.

Choosing the perfect breast forms really comes down to what YOU want! I always recommend starting from the very beginning.
First, think about the size you want to be!
Your band size is the foundation, and your cup size decides the look. It's also based on what your body physically says you are (we all may want to be a 36C, but unless you measure 30-32 inches at your underbust, that isn't possible... but you can still be a C cup, no matter what you measure!) Do you want to be demure, or maybe proportionate? Maybe you picture yourself with a super busty look. Knowing the size (or the look) will help determine which styles of breast forms & breastplates are right for you.
Next, ask yourself how long you want to wear them.
Some forms are perfect for a few hours of fun, some are comfortable all day, and some are designed to sleep in. It's important to think about how you want to use your breast forms, so that you can feel comfortable while wearing them.
Where you’ll wear them matters too.
Are these for private moments at home, something intimate with a partner, or do you want to wear them under everyday clothing? Different styles work better for different outfits — traditional forms for bras, breastplates for cleavage, lightweight foam forms for sleeping, and silicone skin breast forms if you want to go topless. Oo la la!
Budget is another good thing to consider.
You can absolutely start with something affordable if you’re experimenting, or if this is a look you only want for a specific outfit! But if this is a part of yourself you want to enjoy for years, investing in a pair designed for regular or daily wear now will save you money in the long run.
If you're unsure, speak with a certified breast form fitter.
There are fitters who work specifically with trans women, nonbinary folks, and crossdressers — places like The Breast Form Store specialize in exactly this and make the process comfortable and affirming. If you’re post-mastectomy, a post-mastectomy boutique can help fit you in person based on your surgery and how your body has healed (especially if you are claiming anything through your insurance or extended health benefits).
Choosing the right breast forms is a deeply personal journey — one that blends desire, comfort, practicality, and the vision you hold for your feminine self. As our girls have beautifully shared, there’s no single “right” choice. Some prefer the soft realism of Divine Collection’s self-adhering forms, others adore the sculpted cleavage of a breastplate, and many find their perfect match only after exploring size, shape, skin tone, and how they want to feel when they look in the mirror.
Whether you’re seeking something natural and subtle, or dreaming of curves that turn heads, the real secret is listening to your body, your lifestyle, and your femininity. Think about how long you’ll wear them, what outfits you love, your comfort level with weight and coverage, and the look you’re trying to create. And remember — you don’t have to guess. Certified fitters, especially those here at The Breast Form Store, are here to guide you with kindness, experience, and zero judgment.
The right breast forms don’t just enhance your shape — they help you step into the woman you are becoming, with confidence, joy, and a sense of possibility.
