When shopping online, payment methods can sometimes be tricky — especially if you’re using a prepaid card. Here’s a quick guide to make sure your purchase goes smoothly.
1. Can the card be used online?
Not all prepaid cards are set up for online transactions. Double-check with your card provider to confirm that online purchases are allowed.
2. Has the card been registered with an address?
Many prepaid cards require you to register an address before using them for online purchases. Make sure the address you registered matches the one you enter at checkout.
3. Can the card be used internationally?
Since we are a Canadian company, it’s important that your prepaid card allows transactions outside of the United States. If it doesn’t, you may need to contact your card company for options.
4. Security alerts may occur
Even if everything looks correct, sometimes purchases are blocked due to security alerts. In these cases, calling your card company can quickly resolve the issue. 🙂
Tip: Some prepaid cards can be pre-loaded to a PayPal account, which may allow you to use them internationally. This is a great option if your card isn’t accepted directly.
