Welcome back to another entry in our Product Spotlight series! Today, we are focusing on a behind-the-scenes essential that solves one of the most common challenges in prosthetic and cosmetic styling: sweat. Whether you are hitting the stage, dressing up for a long night out, or just going about your day, keeping everything secure when perspiration kicks in can be a challenge.
That is where Divine Collection Stay Dry comes in. This powerhouse formula is designed to keep your skin primed, tacky, and sweat-free so your look stays locked in from day to night.
From application secrets to troubleshooting tips, here is everything you need to know about making Stay Dry work for you.
What does Stay Dry do?
Stay Dry helps to minimize perspiration (sweat) behind breast forms and under adhesives. By blocking moisture before it starts, it helps keep your forms perfectly in place, no matter how long you are wearing them or where you wear them to — looking at you, drag queens!
Why does Stay Dry work and what was it designed for?
Stay Dry was originally designed to go under heavy stage makeup to slow down sweating and avoid dripping under hot lights. It keeps the skin tacky underneath cosmetics, which prevents makeup from sweating off while securing it in place to stop any smearing.
This makes it incredibly handy when you are using base or bare coverage and blending real-skin breast forms into your natural skin tone. Because of these excellent sweat-blocking capabilities, it works beautifully with body prosthetics for the exact same purpose.
How do you use Stay Dry?
Using Stay Dry is really simple:
Clean and thoroughly dry the skin area where you are going to apply your breast forms.
Simply spray the area with Stay Dry.
Allow it to dry completely, and then apply your choice of adhesive.
Put on your breast forms, apply your makeup, and add any other accessories as normal.
How do you remove Stay Dry?
If you are using an adhesive alongside it, follow the standard removal steps for that specific product first. After removing your prosthetics, you can use regular makeup remover to clear the Stay Dry residue from your skin. Finish by washing your skin like normal, and make sure to wash your breast forms with a non-moisturizing soap, like Divine Collection Breast Form Wash.
What products is Stay Dry compatible with?
Stay Dry can be used with pretty much any breast form or body prosthetic that attaches directly to the body, including hip padding, butt padding, and full torso plates.
What else can you do with Stay Dry?
Because of its theatrical roots, Stay Dry is incredibly versatile. As mentioned above, it can be applied before makeup to prevent dripping when sweating, or it can be used as a high-performance setting spray over your final look. It is also an amazing trick for securing wigs and lace fronts against sweat!
What should I do if the pump jams?
Because of the sticky, high-hold nature of the liquid inside, the spray nozzle can sometimes get a little clogged. If this happens, don't worry:
Unscrew the pump top from the bottle and set the bottle aside in a safe place.
Run the spray pump mechanism under hot water.
After about 30 seconds, try pumping hot water through the nozzle to clear out any dried, leftover Stay Dry trapped in the tube.
Once the pump sprays a fine mist again, it's as good as new! Simply screw it back onto the bottle and continue using it as usual.
A quick note on skin chemistry: Stay Dry is fantastic, but it might not work the exact same way for every skin type. It is important to play around to see what works best for your unique body chemistry. Some clients find that Skin Tac wipes work better for them, while others find they need a combination of both Stay Dry and Skin Tac wipes. Some even find that their skin prefers adhesives placed directly against bare skin without a barrier.
