What’s your name? What are your pronouns?
When I’m en femme I go by Dannie H. My pronouns are her/she/them.
Where are you located? (Just the state is OK!)
I currently reside in northern Illinois with a tolerant spouse, 3 cats, a dog, several dozen koi, and several thousand honey bees!
What’s your favorite thing about expressing your feminine side?
My favorite thing about expressing my feminine side is how much peace and joy it gives me. I love doing my hair and makeup, having my nails done, and then going out as typical 60-something woman to shop, stroll or attend a community festival.
How would you describe your style?
My style is mostly casual middle class retirement age woman. I most often dress in capris and loose tops or sun dresses in summer. Winter finds me in leggings and sweaters, or jeans and sweaters with appropriate footwear.
Where are your favorite places to shop?
My favorite places to shop are JC Penny’s, TJ Maxx or Macys. They are the most trans friendly places I’ve found. I rarely shop on line.
What piece of advice would you share to someone starting dressing?
As for advice, after dressing for more than 50 years, I would advise new comers to be true to themselves, be confident and don’t hide. This is NOT what I did, and I regret that I waited until my late 50s to be my authentic self!!
