Meet Juni Lind
What’s your name? What are your pronouns?
The name I gave myself is Juni, short for Junipher. So, Juni Lind. Thats me. When I present female I love it if you use the pronouns she/her.
Where are you located? (Just the state is OK!)
I live just north of Stockholm city limit in Sweden.
What’s your favorite thing about expressing your feminine side?
Oh, this is not an easy question to nail down an answer to! But I think what gives me most joy out of the female experience now, these days is the lovely meetings and interactions I get when I am out and about in the city. I think I look pretty nice (if you ask me) and I look very feminine and very much like a woman in pictures, and perhaps I pass to the casual observer. But the truth is that I am a big girl. Fairly tall and I love heels which does not help in that regard. So people notice me, but generally I get smiles and lovely words of encouragement. Just great meetings. As a man, I am rather invisible. Being out femme is just so, so much more fun.
How would you describe your style?
Hmm, maybe I dare say I am chic? Sure, I dress over the top once in a while. But If that is the case there is a special occasion that calls for it. Normally I want casual, but always tip over into elegant. Or is it just overdressed? Haha.
Where are your favorite places to shop?
I get almost everything second hand these days. I can find amazing clothes for a fraction of the cost and for the money I save... I buy more dresses. Lingerie I buy over new, naturally. I like Hunkemöller and Triupmph, but I am not very loyal when it comes to brands - if I like what I see I don't care what the tag says. Shoes is tricky i need a UK 10 or something and its not easy to find a good fit online, as you well know. I did get a pair of awesome boots from Onlymaker.com. It's probably for the best that I do not have smaller feet or I would ruin myself buying shoes. My wigs are from lots of places but I own several from a Swedish site called indigoshair.se. But you can get decent wigs from lots of places these days. I have a few real favorites from Amazon.
What piece of advice would you share to someone starting dressing?
My advice to someone that wants to explore this is get your own clothes.
Do NOT use your spouses closet without permission; that will only make things complicated. Also, get clothes that fit you, not only the style but actually fit in size.
Secondly, learn makeup from drag queens on youtube (unless you know are fortunate to have a drag queen friend In your life to teach you) 🙂
Third. I know Breastforms are alluring; I know you want them. But I'm here to tell you not to underestimate the importance of hip-pads! You will love the curves they give you.
Fourth- invest in a decent wig and learn how to take care of it. The wig is our crown and it makes all the difference in the world.
Fifth. Unleash the power of social media and try to find girls like you in your town. If you can find friends it will make your life so much easier and you and your friends will support each other and push each other to get out there in the world.
And finally - let go of your shame. If you are anything like me you have spent way to much time wallowing in shame and guilt. Stop that. We may not fit the norm but we are perfectly normal.
